Australian Fishing Enterprises (AFE) was formed in 1987 by Mr Sime (Sam) Sarin. Sam has grown AFE to be one of largest tuna ranching companies in the world and holds almost half of all SBT quota in Australia.
Over the last 40 years, the company has seen the evolution of the SBT industry – from wild caught, to the far more sophisticated tuna ranching method adopted today. Until the early 1990’s SBT was traditionally a canned product. It is now predominantly sold as a premium sushi product to an international market.
